Abstract
An ethical decision-making model in assessment was newly developed using researcher-developed scenarios. In this article, the authors examined the usability of this newly-developed model by applying the authentic scenarios of ethical dilemmas proposed by classroom teachers. 33 educators in a graduate-level online assessment course participated in the study. A critical incidents procedure was applied for data collection. The results of the analysis validated the newly-developed ethical decision-making model using authentic scenarios. The same elements were included in the model: (1) the critical incident causing the ethical dilemma;(2) identification of the conflict elements; (3) decision making; (4) justification of the decisions;(5) implications; and (6) alternative suggestions for resolving the dilemma.
