The purpose of this study is to develop a design thinking engagement scale for preschool teachers (DTES-PT). Samples were gathered from Beijing, China. We first employed exploratory factor analysis (sample A, n = 141) which generated a 16-item scale with all the five dimensions identified from literature. Then, we employed confirmatory factor analysis (sample B, n = 229) to test and identify the most efficient model. Third, cross-validation of the corrected model was tested using the method of multiple-group analysis (sample C, n=229) to confirm its stability and predictive power. The result of the DTES-PT can provide preschool teachers preparation and development programs with a tool for evaluating the design thinking engagement during lesson design practice.
