Digital transformation has a far-reaching impact on the educational system. However, there is a lack of evidence on how teacher can be supported in coping with it. The aim of our research is to identify determinants of teachers’ use of digital media and content. To this end, we rely on theory of planned behavior as a framework. In collaboration with five schools and utilizing twelve expert interviews, we have developed a measurement instrument. By means of structural-equation-modelling and importance-performance-map analysis, we identify promising fields for teachers’ professional development. In our sample of 215 teachers from German-speaking Switzerland, we found that fostering teachers’ ability to create blended learning arrangements and digital formative as well as summative assessments may be beneficial.
