What are the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary for 21st century workers in the Global Knowledge Economy (GKE)? This study uses meta-analytic techniques to explore which factors of cultural intelligence as measured by the Cultural Intelligence Scale (CQS)—behavior, cognition, metacognition, and motivation—are most strongly related to the commonly-assessed tangible and intangible global workplace outcomes of performance and adjustment. Empirical and research findings are used to confirm a systems model that identifies the extent to which each of the four factors of CQ represent the “know-how” and “know-what” that contribute to desired outcomes. The findings suggest the potential impact of and recommended focus for training and developing both tangible and intangible capacities of workers in the GKE.
