Abstract

This paper responds to AERA’s call by outlining the process and outcomes of a university-school collaboration on an urban district’s first-ever equity audit. The Research-Practice Partnership that undertook the equity audit hatched “in response to district needs” (Coburn et al., 2013, p. 3) with the priority of understanding how equity plays out with access to fine arts opportunities, athletics, and advanced courses at the high school level. The results shows a pattern of inequitable opportunity across athletics, fine arts, and advanced courses by race and disability.
