Abstract

Using Singleton’s (2015) Head, Heart and Hands Model for Transformational Learning, Mezirow’s (1991) transformative learning theory (TLT), and Pugh's pragmatic construct of transformational learning experience (Pugh, 2002) as conceptual and analytical frameworks, this paper investigates the psychosocial impact of experiential learning within a Central American place-based pedagogical context inclusive of K-12 service-learning upon Texas pre/in-service teachers' conceptions of pedagogical practice and curriculum design.
