This study examined elementary teachers’ perceptions, attitudes, and practices with respect to financial literacy education. Specifically, 157 elementary teachers from Ontario, Canada participated in an online survey about whether they integrate financial literacy into their practice and the support they receive, or would like to receive, for financial literacy education. Survey responses were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. Results reveal that despite overwhelming support for incorporating financial literacy into the curriculum (92.5%), less than half (49.0%) of respondents currently do so. Those who do are accessing resources online, with little regard for the producers or sponsors of such resources. Given the importance of beginning financial literacy education early, this study has implications for curriculum development and policy makers.
