Abstract

This study examines the validity of consensual assessment in measuring creativity in a warm-up activity in fourth-grade drama classes and compares the scores between warm-ups in a blackbox theater setting (treatment) vs. a traditional classroom (control). Four professional actors, viewed 60 clips of performances and scored for creativity, using a 5-point scale. The raters demonstrated high agreement, with a coefficient alpha estimate of .819. An independent samples t-test between the treatment and control groups was significant at p > .001. Despite neither group having received drama instruction at that time, the results suggest a strong correlation between space and creativity. This paper discusses validity, opinions, instruction, and possible effect for setting on creativity.
