Poster #52 - Equating Milestone Scores to Criterion-Referenced Competency Test Scores in Georgia Elementary School Classroom Tests

Sat, April 6, 8:00 to 9:30am, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Floor: 300 Level, Hall C

Abstract

A new standardized test called the Georgia Milestones Assessment System has replaced the Georgia’s Criterion-Referenced Competency Test (CRCT) program beginning with the 2014-2015 school year. There are many differences among these two tests. Therefore this major change in test made by the state posed a challenge to the research studies conducted across the year of change.
Based on a real data set, this study proposed methods to equate the CRCT and the Milestones. As there are no common items between these two tests, we use the equipercentile nonlinear functions on the first step and then general linear functions on the second step.
