Serious educational games (SEG) are effective for improving learning and becoming more and more prevalent in teacher education. In teacher education, SEGs – serving as realistic reflections of classrooms – can be used as effective tools for improving student teachers’ competencies and knowledge. The project Teach SEG mainly aims at advancing teacher education by developing a SEG in the area of classroom management during instruction. After game development and validation, participants will play through a first-person perspective game of a teacher leading a classroom. The poster will present results from several project phases focusing on the development of the theoretical framework and game model, as well as on first piloting results. Implications for further research and practice are presented.
