The purposes of this study were (a) to examine the potential differences in physical activity (PA) and sedentary behavior, PAF knowledge and attitude toward PE among students from two middle schools located in two different states, and (b) to determine how the relationships among these variables may differ between the two schools. We collected data a mid-western state school (MW; n = 397) and a deep south (DS) school (n = 350). We observed significant differences for PA and PAF knowledge favoring the DS school students, while sedentary behavior and attitude favored the MW school students. We also found stronger associations between attitude and PA but weaker associations between attitude and sedentary behavior at the DS school. Findings are discussed.
