Abstract

The purpose of this study was to collect the leadership narratives of women university presidents at public doctoral granting institutions. Eight women presidents were interviewed. The findings show a narrative circle of self and place, context, and leadership legacy. The three themes link together to describe the grand narrative (Clandinin & Connelly, 2000) of the participants and the challenges experienced by women leaders.
