Universal social and emotional learning (SEL) interventions are intended to be used school- or classroom-wide. This systematic review examines whether and how students with disabilities, a population increasingly included in these general education classes, is being considered in the many studies of SEL interventions. Drawing on two landmark SEL compendia and a systematic search of the literature, results demonstrate that students with disabilities are rarely mentioned in SEL intervention studies and that few programs describe efforts to make their programs inclusive for students with disabilities. Implications for the design and study of SEL interventions are discussed.
