Academic advising plays an integral role in student engagement and academic achievement. Over the years, researchers have devoted considerable efforts studying multifaceted factors linked with student engagement. However, how academic advising relates to student engagement remains to be investigated. Using data from CCSSE and structural equation modeling, we investigate how identified factors mediate the association between academic advising and student engagement at community colleges. Research findings might provide important implications for student engagement and academic achievement at two-year institutions.
