A Meta-Analytic Review of Research on Academic Press

Abstract

Applying meta-analytic review methods to research results on Academic Press (AP) from the past 20 years, this paper conceptualizes the critical path tying school leadership to student achievement by means of AP. This paper presents the following: 1) five major approaches to the measuring of AP; 2) the positive impact of AP on student learning; and 3) the positive impact of school leadership on AP. The study adds to our understanding of the indirect influence that school leadership has on student learning through AP and thus theorizes that critical path. Implications of the findings for research and practices are discussed, as well.
