This project explores the integration of video teacher noticing reflection with scaffolded lesson study in a two-year professional development project with two US Government teachers. In the initial interviews, the teachers focused on classroom climate and procedures. By the end of the project, the teachers independently critiqued the role of the teacher in probing student thinking or missing opportunities to do so. The teachers became more aware of their tendency to give answers too quickly and expressed a desire to improve in pressing students to think more deeply.
