Technology has emerged as a new feedback agent. Research using technology as a tool for feedback has been attempted. However, there is not enough exploration on the role of technology as a feedback agent. This study conducted a literature review to examine the role of technology generated feedback (TGF). The results show that TGF mainly plays the role of corrective information like that of instructor and peer. Meanwhile, learners preferred to be provided with information that confirms errors in their performance rather than corrective information. It is also effective not only for improving performance but also for improving learning ability. In conclusion, it is important to support learners to actively modify their performance in order to design effective TGF.
