The purpose of this study is to understand the ways that undocumented queer immigrants reveal or conceal their gender, sexuality, and immigration status. Because coming out has different consequences for people depending on their economic circumstances, becoming visible for undocuqueer immigrants is a challenging and risk-laden task. This study investigates how they construct their identities and engage visibility schemas in everyday life.
