[Name omitted] will provide a brief overview of the symposium’s goals and provide a brief overview of the concepts associated with the book. She will highlight some of the most troubling and problematic myths that permeate public opinion on race in higher education, and address some of the possibilities and limitations of utilizing data to challenge such myths. In particular, she will highlight research on cognitive biases (Kahneman, 2011) that suggests that human beings are prone to making quick and often faulty assumptions about the world around them.
