This proposal presents results from a pilot study of the tangible, collaborative coding platform, CodeSnaps. The goal of the pilot was to understand student interactions with and opinions of CodeSnaps and explore potential relevant computational thinking outcomes. Three classes of students engaged with CodeSnaps for five lessons. Surveys indicate that students who valued collaboration were more likely to indicate wanting to do CodeSnaps again. Although students experienced pre-post increases in spatial ability, they reported declines in interest in technology and problem solving. For the presentation, qualitative data will explore student interactions with the platform and will be used to construct more objective measures of CT gains.
