Abstract

 High school completion is a “watershed indicator” of the success of Early Intervention programs (Temple, et al 2000). However, the majority of research is focused on remedial, one-time, individual or small group interventions delivered at the high school level (Freeman & Simonsen, 2015).There is minimal research on outcomes of EI programs that are based on position that targeted services can compensate children who are considered vulnerable to poor outcomes later in life. This paper presents the results of an evaluation of the long term outcomes of participation in an early intervention career exploration program for at-risk children. Program participants were significantly more likely to graduate from high school and move on to post-secondary education.
