Poster #79 - Promoting Utilization of Evaluation Data Through Graphic Reports and Engaging Data Sharing Processes

Fri, April 5, 4:20 to 5:50pm, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Floor: 300 Level, Hall C

Abstract

This presentation will demonstrate a process for sharing survey results with those charged with implementing a project that engages the audience and readily conveys important information through graphic style survey reports. We will illustrate this process through examples in our work as evaluators for federally-funded projects in the field of education. Our process draws on utilization-focused evaluation and data visualization literature. The graphic report style helps to reduce cognitive load needed to glean key findings and allows the user to clearly see patterns in the data. Our clients have reacted positively, commenting that the information is easy to read and that they are able to use survey results to make data-driven decisions to guide their implementation efforts.
