Abstract

Our efforts for this study were aimed at uncovering thematic understandings of social (in)justice in the current educational contexts of both schools and society. For this paper, we employed data collection techniques with goals to develop thematic understandings of both the current societal educational context and the lived field-based experiences of a large cadre of preservice teachers.

To develop thematic understandings of the present-day larger societal educational narrative, we collected and analyzed educational speeches, hashtags, and tweets at national and state levels. In order to explore the storied experiences of preservice teachers, we drew on narrative-based data collected from a large cadre of preservice teachers and spanning four semesters, from 2016 to 2018.
