Adults Who Struggle With Reading: Characteristics and Intervention Results

Abstract

This presentation is based on worked conducted by the Center for the Study of Adult Literacy, a Center which focuses on adults who read between the third and seventh grade levels of reading. This presentation has three purposes:To describe demographic information collected on adult learners; to describe the reading related strengths and weaknesses of adult learners; and to describe results of a reading intervention study designed for adult learners. Implications for research and practice will be discussed.
