Abstract

This qualitative study illustrates how faculty serve as transformational institutional agents to enable the authentic empowerment of Latino male students. Findings show institutions who value the importance of critical conscious faculty in providing emotional support and cultural validation are making a difference, while working to extend boundaries of the academy outward to be inclusive of communities of color, and males of color in particular
