In Depth: Identifying the Needs of Diverse Faculty

Abstract

This study examines the needs of junior faculty in a large, diverse College of Education (COE) in terms of institutional supports and structures. This continuing study utilizes the COE as an analogue for the whole University as a quasi-pilot study, which will be refined and conducted university-wide. Results from the previous iterations of the study indicate that issues of inclusion and cultural responsiveness affect junior faculty in addition to other tradition academic components of promotion/retention.
