This paper reports on the outcomes of a semester-long teacher education technology integration course framed by design thinking. We explore the extent to which a design thinking approach to technology integration increased pre-service teachers’ confidence in their abilities to integrate technology effectively and use a design thinking approach. Results indicate that this approach can help improve pre-service teachers’ confidence with design thinking and digital technology. This preliminary study demonstrates encouraging results for rethinking teacher education coursework and preparing teachers for effective integration of technology.
