This paper explores a journey of composing multiple representations of student’s navigations of race on a college campus. Following the theories of affect and assemblage, I explore the possibilities for creating multiple and layered representations of encounters in place and the production of racializing assemblages in higher education. Implications from this paper suggest methodological possibilities of working with multimodal representations, and possibilities for making visible the racializing assemblages of higher education, creating possibility for new productions of place in higher education.
