Abstract

Teacher educators from institutions and organizations across our state are collaborating to recruit a more diverse teacher workforce and better prepare these new teachers to integrate education for sustainability (EfS) into K-12 curricula. This is a work in process, involving the development of goals, key principles, resources, and an analytic process for assessing the current landscape for EfS across undergraduate courses. We discuss the collaborative processes and frameworks which support this work. Results focus on the products developed over two years, including a vision supported by goals, objectives, tasks, and indicators of success and a detailed EfS Framework to support development and assessment. This work will be useful to others addressing systemic change for implementing sustainability education in undergraduate education.
