Given the growth of the Latinx population, there is an urgent need to understand how educators are meeting the needs of diverse students. We developed the first comparative survey on how educators are teaching Latinx social studies topics in four of the country’s largest public school districts. We found that (1) teachers most often reported integrating Latinx topics throughout their curriculum, followed by rarely teaching them; (2) White teachers were the most likely to teach Latinx topics rarely or not at all, and (3) teachers would incorporate more Latinx topics if they had more curricular sources or if they were included in the content standards.
