Abstract

This paper, based on a qualitative research project situated in Canada that examines selected indigenous responses to the TRC, explores the curricular and pedagogical challenges for scholars today when utilizing Indigenous artists work to understand the Indigenous/Settler relationship in present day. By examining two Indigenous artists' work, I highlight the complexity in which Indigenous identities are infused with past and present narratives realized in and through their re-materialization in contemporary time and space.
