Abstract

This paper examines the reported attitudes of almost 5,000 teachers and principals from 160 schools across 9 states. These educators worked at schools that implemented an educator effectiveness and professional development support system, TAP: The System for Teacher and Student Advancement. The purpose of this study is to understand how educators respond to the implementation and continuation of such a system. Findings demonstrate educators reported favorable opinions of the four core elements of the TAP System and reported positive teacher-, student-, and school-level impacts. Results of the study showcase the positive perspective of educators when local capacity is built; additionally, the results indicate teachers are open to rigorous evaluation when connected to a structured support system.
