This paper uses duo-ethnography as a methodology to examine the challenges, opportunities and contradictions of our university positions. The authors are a tenured professor and a doctoral candidate in a Social Foundations of Education program who seek to answer how do we join the revolution and shape the future while maintaining our academic stature? In this duo-ethnography, the authors used a politically-relevant pedagogical approach to discuss their experiences in academic spaces while representing marginalized communities. Ultimately, we question our roles within academia and whether our work with educators matters during this time of political discord.
