GET OUT: The Disembodiment of Black Faculty and Staff (Practitioner/Scholar) Identity in Predominantly White Institutions

Fri, April 5, 12:00 to 2:00pm, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Floor: 600 Level, Room 601B

Abstract

This Interactive Symposium session utilizes Jordan Peele’s 90th Academy Award winning film Get Out (McKittrick, Blum, Hamm, & Peele, 2017) as a theoretical framework to problematize and deconstruct the experiences of Black Scholars and Staff (Practitioner/Scholars) who negotiate predominantly White spaces on their academic and professional journeys in Academe.
