This study examines nearly 1,700 articles published in the Chronicle of Mentoring and Coaching (CMC) from 2008-2017. Articles include a wide-ranging combination of rigorous research, evidence-based case studies, and evaluation papers, bringing a unique perspective to the field from researchers and practitioners alike.
The analysis of the CMC articles will provide an understanding of new practices, patterns and themes, common citations, and theories used to inform the field of mentoring. This study will provide the foundation for a better understanding of the dynamic relationship in which practice informs theory and theory leads practice within mentoring research, addressing the AERA stated conference goal of making “new connections across our often fragmented and disconnected findings.”
