Abstract

Coaching has become an increasingly popular form of professional development. As we continue to rely on coaching as a form of professional development, it is important that we understand specific facilitation moves that are proven to lead to effective teacher and student growth. While there seems to be an underlying agreement on the definition of coaching, there is a lack of research outlining strong theoretical frameworks regarding specific facilitation moves of coaching.

The purpose of this study is to share what University of Florida certified coaches believe to be the most effective coaching facilitation moves when coaching teacher candidates.
