Technology and Whiteness: Separate and Still Unequal in Early Childhood Education

Abstract

Utilizing Critical Race Theory and Challenging Whiteness as theoretical frameworks we examine several different early childhood classrooms (in 2 studies) in the Northeast in terms of access to technology. Our findings reveal great disparities in technological equipment/access which perpetuate Whiteness as the norm and exclude students of color.
