Leading, Learning, and Researching Together: Strengthening Collaboration in School/University Partnerships

Fri, April 5, 2:25 to 3:55pm, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Floor: 200 Level, Room 205D

Abstract

This qualitative case study is ongoing and iterative in nature, as both entities (school and university) consider this to be a multi-year action research project. This study emerged organically during an effort to establish a collaborative school-university partnership in the metropolitan area of a large, urban city. The explicit purpose of this research and partnership is to enhance and support authentic collaboration that enables the development of aspiring school and district leaders who will serve racially, ethnically, socioeconomically, and linguistically diverse populations of students. In addition, this work serves as a laboratory for the participants (who represent the university) to reflect on, and critically examine, our responsibility to the district and our role in this partnership.
