Intersegmental Data Partnerships for College and Career Readiness: Implications for Practice and Policy

Mon, April 8, 10:25 to 11:55am, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Floor: 800 Level, Hall F

Abstract

Collaboration between K-12 school districts and higher education, workforce groups, and community organizations has the potential to improve the college and career readiness of today’s youth. Yet, limited knowledge exists about the data sharing and data-informed decision-making processes within these partnerships. This study begins to fill this gap with an extensive qualitative study of more than 25 intersegmental partnerships across California. From interviews, surveys and a robust document review, common challenges and promising practices emerge in how organizations are defining priorities, sharing and analyzing data, and using data to inform efforts to improve educational and workforce outcomes.
