Blending Personalized Tools and Multisensory Strategies to Empower K–20 Leaders and Teachers to Meet Demanding Instructional Challenges

Sat, April 6, 4:10 to 5:40pm, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Floor: 200 Level, Room 203C

Abstract

This paper describes how effective K-20 leaders and teachers are using multi-sensory technology to transform student content mastery and achievement. Using “cool” tools, students remember things better, making learning more meaningful and longer lasting. The tools allow students to build their language and communication skills in a safe digital setting. This paper shares how these tools capture student performance and facilitate coaching. It also shares how the tools provide for and demonstrate student success and school transformation. Likewise, the paper presentation shows how by utilizing multi-sensory technology, principals, leaders-in-training, and teachers will provide for the growth of marginalized students in terms of acceptance beyond their circles, their membership in new groups/communities, and their ability to prosper in different cultures/social circles.
