Poster #26 - Development and Validation of the Assessment of Teachers' Attitudes Toward Twice-Exceptionality

Tue, April 9, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Floor: 300 Level, Hall C

Abstract

The Assessment of Teacher Attitudes toward Twice-Exceptionality (ATATE) was designed to measure teachers’ attitudes toward twice-exceptionality. The study of twice-exceptional (2E) students, those identified as both gifted and having some type of disability, is a relatively new concept in the field of gifted education and no published instrument measuring teacher attitudes about this topic currently exists. The authors developed the instrument, conducted content validation and exploratory factor analysis, and collected data for confirmatory factor analysis and reliability testing.
