This paper presentation will discuss the results from a single qualitative case study on how intercultural competencies are defined, addressed and developed in three different level 4 LINC classes. One on one interviews with the LINC program manager, three instructors of the LINC classes and 12 immigrants and refugee students, an in-depth review of program documents and field notes from 32 hours of classroom observations are the data sources for this study. Instructors, program managers and students in the community-based ESL program, as well as policymakers, researchers, and practitioners may find the results and recommendations useful to inform practice and policy.
