With the pursuit of theorizing and actualizing truth within an era of post-truth rhetoric in mind, this paper explores how the Black Fat Queer Femme Body as embodied text disrupts the rigidity of the classroom and offers generative insight into alternative relationships to the university. As a graduate student instructing from a structurally disempowered positionality, I imagine my teaching as a site of resisting limiting paradigms of knowledge production through centering experiential realities that are just as informative as traditional academic text. I argue that by bridging Critical Race Theory and Black Queer Feminism, that a pedagogy informed by humanizing practices stands to illuminate how marginalized students and instructors can share power within the classroom.
