Struck by the many decisions Spiegelman’s father had to make in order to survive the Holocaust, a group of student researchers decided to create a board game (Fig. 4) serving as a repository of both information about the Holocaust and striking details within Spiegelman’s (1986) memoir. The game was designed without beginning or end, a way that student and teacher researchers chose to manifest the impossibility of simply “winning” or leaving behind traumatic memories for Holocaust survivors.
