Taking up Haraway’s and Barad’s diffraction to think/become data/researcher differently, creative entanglements of theory/researcher/participant/audio/text/materials are constructed to produce inventive reconfigurations and to consider how the ways in which thinking/becoming with research matters. Drawing on Jackson and Mazzei and Lenz Taguchi to consider how thinking data with diffraction in educational research matters, data from an old study set in a middle school mathematics classroom is diffractively read across three theoretical frames. We (data, researcher, theories, methods, materials, and, and, and) zig and zag and snag. We slow, and quicken in our mutual becomings. We pause and linger to carefully attend to the entanglements.
