Poster #52 - The Hijab Project: Art as a Tool for Self-Authorship and Collective Action

Tue, April 9, 12:20 to 1:50pm, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Floor: 300 Level, Hall C

Abstract

This presentation is an account of a Critical Participatory Action Research (CPAR) project that sought to explore the ways in which Islamophobia materializes in the educational experiences of young Muslim women. Furthermore, this project answers the American Educational Research Association conference call to connect educational research to “the lived experiences of educators, students, and parents across multiple contexts”.
