In this paper, we develop an ontologically-based theoretical framework: embodied pedagogies of care (EPC). Toward this framework, we bring together three separate qualitative studies, showing how three Chicana/Latina educators used their community ways of being to successfully convey care for their Latinx students. The narratives concretely illustrate how Chicana/Latina teachers embodied care through their pedagogical practices and interpersonal relationships with their Latinx students. We offer that EPC has worked well for Latinx students across different classrooms, levels, and institutions and can be useful for educators considering how to develop their own pedagogical stances to best work with Latinx and marginalized students.
