The purpose of this study investigated how persons with visual impairment will adopt the mobile applications in their daily lives by applying the UTAUT model as a unifying model for technology acceptance. An online survey consisting of close- and open-ended questionnaires was conducted with a total of 259 participants with visual impairment. A structural equation modeling of the close-ended responses revealed that the usefulness of mobile applications significantly predicted the behavioral intention of mobile applications, moderated by the attitude. A content analysis of the open-ended responses led to the following 3 themes: (a) Usefulness as the most demanding function, (b) Navigation as the most useful function, and (c) Mapping as the most necessary navigation information. More findings and implications are discussed.
