Latina Critical Pedagogical Activism: Testimonios of Latina Junior Faculty Members

Abstract

The concept of Latina Critical Pedagogical Activism (LCPA) is introduced through the use of testimonio. LCPA fosters active resistance and survival for Latina junior faculty members by centering ancestral, individual, and cultural knowledge and experiences as instrumental to one’s success. LCPA encompasses pedagogical strategies and epistemologies. The testimonio of two junior faculty members who embrace their #latinamamischolar are presented. The effectiveness of LCPA is demonstrated through student evaluation quotes.
