Researchers across two departments in a large public university engaged in three action research cycles to simultaneously improve teacher and principal preparation in their college. Through the implementation of a video-capture technology combined with coaching and reflection practice, the teacher and principal educators aimed to overcome challenges in their programs, improve coaching practice and pedagogical content knowledge of principal candidates, as well as affect teacher candidates’ abilities to reflect and receive coaching. Teacher candidates recorded lessons and were given feedback by principal candidates who also engaged them in coaching conversations. We will focus on the multiple action research cycles of the project and how each has allowed the researchers to study and refine their practice.
